The Bitcoin experiment machine

Four of Bitcoin's mechanisms on one bench, driven by one simulation: mining power, block discovery, difficulty adjustment and mempool pressure. Change one and watch the effect travel through the others.

Before and after

“Before” is captured the moment the experiment changes the system.

Bitcoin's rules and this experiment's assumptions

Lit mining units, block tokens, the period ring, current difficulty and the transactions that fit the next block Where things stood before the change, and where the clock would be at ten minutes per block Simulated, seeded and accelerated

One shared engine (src/engine) drives every instrument, so they cannot contradict each other. The difficulty rule is Bitcoin's consensus rule; block arrivals are a seeded random process; the hash rate, demand and fee mix are stated assumptions. Same experiment, same seed, same story every time.
